Ayla is nu in haar vierde week en ik kan nu toch wel met zekerheid zeggen dat ze drachtig is. Het begint nu steeds zichtbaarder te worden en ook qua gedrag is ze anders. Twee weken terug was haar taille omvang nog 41,5 cm; nu is dat al 45 cm. Ten opzichte van vorige week is haar gewicht gelijk gebleven; ze weegt nog steeds 11,3 kilo. Haar borstomvang is met 1 cm toegenomen tot 54 cm.

Ayla is een heel stuk rustiger dan normaal. Ze slaapt veel, speelt nauwelijks nog, terwijl ze er normaal gesproken als de kippen bij is als er rondjes gerend worden in de tuin. Nu zit ze er maar een beetje bij te kijken. Het opvallendst is echter haar eetgedrag. Ze eet altijd met veel smaak en niemand waagt het om in de buurt van haar voerbak te komen als ze staat te eten. Nu eet ze met lange tanden en laat regelmatig een restje vlees staan. Roxy heeft het in de gaten dat haar vriendinnetje weinig trek heeft, want zij durft zich al op de voerbak van Ayla te werpen terwijl Ayla nog staat te eten. Vanmorgen heb ik Ayla daarom maar even apart genomen en heb ik het laatste deel, wat ze wilde laten staan, met de hand gevoerd en dat ging er gelukkig nog wel in op die manier.

Ayla is in her fourth week now and I’m quite sure she’s actually pregnant. It’s becoming more and more obvious and her behaviour is changing as well. Two weeks ago her waist measured 41,5 cm and now it already is 45 cm. Compared to last week, her weight has stayed the same; she still weighs 11,3 kilos. Her chest width has increased with 1 cm and is now 54 cm.

Ayla is a lot more quiet than usual. She sleeps a lot, hardly plays, while normally she’ll be the first one there whenever the others start running around in the garden. Now she’s just sitting there and watching them. The most striking thing is her eating behaviour. She always loves to eat and nobody has the courage to come near her food bowl when she’s eating. Now she’s eating very slowly and doesn’t eat all of her food. Roxy noticed that her little friend isn’t very hungry, because she dares to throw herself at the bowl while Ayla is still eating. That’s why I separated Ayla from the others this morning and hand fed her the part she didn’t want. This way she accepted it.
