Dixie

Giggo

Dixie (pedigree name: Giggo) was born in August 2012 and had her first litter in April 2015. Her pedigree name is Giggo and I bought her from a small breeder who has two bitches where she occasionally breeds a litter from. Dixie was mated naturally and freewhelped her puppies. She had 5 healthy puppies, two of which sadly died at the age of 5 weeks because of a nasty viral infection.

Dixie has been medically screened . This screening was more extensive that our Breeding Club requires. It was done by ‘dierenkliniek Zuiderkaag’ in Schagen. I also have x-rays of her back, neck, hips and airways. Dixie is a very healthy girl with lots of endurance and no respiratory problems. Dixie is a lively little dog, who clings to me and is quite watchful. She’s not everybody’s friend and isn’t really freindly to strange dogs in the beginning. She’s more of a waiting type, but if she likes you, she’s very enthousiastic and she can wag her tail, which she does frequently. She’s no show dog; in the first place I’m not doing her a favour and in the second place, I really don’t need a judge to tell me what my dog is worth in terms of showquality. I know that already. She’s a really beautiful dog, no exaggerated flat face, lovely coat colour and a super soft coat, her back is too long (but that’s healthier) and she has a nice little tail which she can use for wagging. She has a gorgeous lean body and she’s fast as lightning. 

To me and the rest of my family, she’s very sweet and gentle. She’s always next to me and she sleeps in my bed. She the absolute alpha bitch of the pack. She knows no fear and she hates cats. We used to have three cats until recently and only the one who wasn’t afraid of her, was left alone by her. She always tried to chase the other two.
